Job Description:
Plan, direct, or coordinate therapeutic recreation programs. Activities include sports, gardening, dramatics, music, social activities, and arts and crafts. Conducts assessment of a client's condition and recommend appropriate recreational activity.
For this type of employment, state law requires a national and state background check as a condition of employment.
Preferreds:
One Year experience in adult mental health/hospital setting. Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist (CTRS) or Bachelor’s Degree in a related therapeutic discipline from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a therapeutic recreation or related therapeutic discipline from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related experience; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Activity Therapist 2 (HCP061) or position equivalent. --Note: Some positions may require registration in the area of assignment.

Position for which you are hiring: Part-time contract music therapist
Any additional information including how you would like to receive applications for this posting: Southern Crescent Music Therapy is seeking a part-time contract music therapist to join a growing private practice serving clients in the McDonough/Stockbridge and surrounding areas. The initial caseload will primarily involve working with geriatric populations in senior living and long-term care settings.
This position will begin with a limited caseload, with opportunities for growth as the practice continues to expand. Scheduling is flexible, and services are primarily provided on-site at partner facilities.
This is a 1099 independent contractor (NEC) position. Ideal candidates are board-certified (MT-BC) or board-eligible, professional, reliable, and comfortable working independently while being supported by an established practice.

Board-Certified Music Therapist Part Time (0.5 FTE)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Music Therapist provides music therapy sessions to assigned students to include evaluations, treatment plans, session plans, and documentation through data collection daily driven by the students' Individual Educational Plan.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy from a regionally accredited university required
Additional years of equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement
CERTIFICATION:
Valid Georgia certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists
Must hold or be eligible to hold a valid Georgia Music Therapy license
Must hold or be eligible to hold a valid GA Music Teacher certification K12 Georgia PSC
Clearance Certificate
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience, preferably with gifted learners
Experience in K-12 education or public sector preferred
