-NEW EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS! As of this September, we have two new members on our executive board. Please help in welcoming Rachel Green, our new Treasurer, who will be completing Emily Minkow's previous term. Additionally stepping into our Presidency position is Roy Joyner, a very familiar face in our organization.
Both have already adopted the roles of their positions and are working towards providing each and every one of our members with as much service and opportunities as possible. We appreciate all of our board members and the work they provide for our MTs in Georgia.
-CONTINUING ED OPPORTUNITIES! For Fall 2019, MTAG is very excited to present, Shifting Ethical Thinking: Aspiration Codes and Personal Responsibility, with our guest presenter, Jamie George on Saturday, September 28 from 9am-3pm. On-site registration will open at 8:30am with short MTAG Fall meeting after at 3:00. This five hour CMTE focuses on ethical thinking in an ever-evolving process. Many allied health professions have adopted an aspiration approach to ethics. This aspirational approach asks each professional (or student) to take more responsibility for monitoring personal conduct and decisions. The case provides a guidebook for ethical decision-making. Unchanged is the ultimate goal of any code of ethics - that actions and decisions are made with the well-being/best interests of client as the primary concern of each professional. AMTA has recently adopted a new Code of Ethics written from an aspirational perspective. We will explore this new code and compare it to the previous code. This new code became effective February 1, 2019.
To register, please go over to our website and follow the prompts! we look forward to seeing you then! HERE!
