The Georgia task force is part of a national initiative formulated by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) to address the recognition of music therapy as a profession in the state of Georgia. Through the State Recognition Operational Plan the task force conducts advocacy within the state through participation in conference calls, state meetings, legislator and agency contacts, social media, and extensive email communication. This advocacy is aimed at increasing access of music therapy services to the residents of Georgia.
